Trenton Community Trail

This hike was taken on April 24, 2017. It just took me a while to get it up here.

This trail is maintained by the Friends of Acadia and the Town of Trenton. You can find out more about it here.

Although the forest is dense the path is clear.

These boards are covering a bit of a sink hole.

The trail gets quite narrow in places. Only one person at a time.

Due to all the snow melt there is quite a fast little stream

They did a good job marking the trail. You can also pick up a map at the entrance.

The trail has many informational signs about the plant and wildlife.

Although its the end of April the gray of winter still clings in the woods.

The boardwalk leads out to a bog.

Here is a pdf of the trail information. With a map, directions on how to get there, and the trail rules. TrentonTrailInformation

If you are headed to Maine this summer, this trail is worth a stop. Just off of Route 3 on your way to Bar Harbor.

I plan on going back when summer is in full swing so I can see it all in a lush green.

Near where I live is a bird sanctuary with hiking paths.

There is still snow on the ground!

We walked a mile and a half, and only completed a quarter of the trails.

Along with the snow were frost heaves, some were huge.

The place is called Birdsacre. I will post more about this cool place later because I spend so much the there in the summer.
